Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: Super Patch Notes — Everything New in the 2025 Update

October 26, 2026 8 min read

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: Super was the 2025 superhero season built around Supernova Academy, Hero Ranks, new Hero Items, and the threat of Mask Maker Daigo. Epic’s announced season ran from June 7 through August 7, 2025, so these are retrospective patch notes rather than a description of Fortnite’s current season. The main Battle Royale additions were three named locations, match-based rank progression, rank-gated caches, new mobility and combat tools, Boons, Sprites, bosses, and a themed Battle Pass. Epic also published a separate v36.20 ecosystem summary for creators, but that post is not a complete technical changelog for every Super update.

Epic’s season overview, published June 7 and updated June 26, is the primary source for the feature list: Fortnite Battle Royale: Super.

What was Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: Super?

Super was a superhero-themed Battle Royale season centered on Supernova Academy and its heroes. Players entered a conflict involving Mask Maker Daigo, explored new urban and supernatural locations, and improved their standing during each match through Hero Rank deeds. The season’s design tied exploration, combat, survival, and loot quality together rather than treating the new items as isolated additions.

Epic described the season as a period running from June 7 to August 7, 2025. Because the dates and Battle Pass details are historical, the 1,000 V-Bucks price, Fortnite Crew availability, launch events, and time-limited rewards below should not be read as current offers.

Which new locations arrived in Super?

Three named points of interest gave the season its physical structure: a training academy, a dense city area, and Daigo’s citadel. Each location served a different purpose in the announced design.

Supernova Academy

Supernova Academy was the hero-training hub. Its Tech Lab contained rank-gated rooms where players could pursue Hero Items, making the academy more than a landmark: it was also connected to the season’s progression system.

Utopia City

Utopia City was an urban loot location with office parks, landscaped areas, and the concentrated building density expected from a city-themed drop. Epic later listed Utopia City prefabs and galleries in its ecosystem update for creators.

Demon’s Domain

Demon’s Domain was Mask Maker Daigo’s stronghold. Epic presented it as the place where players could challenge Daigo for his Mythic weapon and Medallion, so the location functioned as the season’s principal boss destination.

How did Hero Rank work during a match?

Every player began each match at rank C. Completing specific deeds advanced the player through B, A, S, and finally S+. Hero Rank was shared by party members, so a squad’s progress was a group state rather than an entirely separate meter for every teammate.

Actions that increased rank

  • Eliminating enemy players.
  • Surviving Storm phases.
  • Taking a Sprite to a Shrine.
  • Eliminating henchmen.

These actions made rank progress possible through different play styles: direct fighting, careful survival, map interaction, or attacks on guarded locations. Epic’s overview names the deeds but does not provide a complete point-by-point scoring table, so the list should not be treated as a published formula for how many actions were required at each threshold.

What each rank provided

Rank Documented role Reward or access described by Epic
C Starting rank in every match Beginning state for Hero Rank progression
B First advancement Rank-up reward and access to a stronger Hero Cache than lower ranks
A Second advancement Rank-up reward and access to a stronger Hero Cache than lower ranks
S High-rank advancement Rank-up reward and access to a stronger Hero Cache than lower ranks
S+ Final listed rank Any Boons the player was missing instead of a Hero Cache

Each rank-up granted 100 Effective Health. At ranks below S+, the new rank also opened a Hero Cache with better loot according to rank. Reaching S+ changed the reward type: Epic said players received missing Boons instead of another cache.

Which Hero Items were added?

Hero Items supplied the season’s clearest superhero abilities. Some were combat tools, some changed movement, and others provided scouting or temporary transformation. Epic marked several items as arriving later in the season, so the announced roster was not necessarily a day-one inventory.

Hero Item Announced ability or function Availability note
Myst Gauntlets Attacks powered by shadow energy Listed in the season overview
Killswitch Revolvers Dual pistols with a dodge and airborne Hangtime firing mechanic Listed in the season overview
Tracking Visor Scans the battlefield, pings nearby enemies, and displays footprints Listed in the season overview
Bass Boost Emits a sound wave that destroys structures, damages opponents, and can launch its user Listed in the season overview
Surf Cube Traversal item Marked as coming later in the season
Storm Beast’s Pom Poms Transformation item with a Storm Slam ability Marked as coming later in the season
Myst Form Temporary invulnerable raven form; could combine with Myst Gauntlets into Ascended Myst Marked as coming later in the season
Robin’s Grapnel Gun Longer-range traversal tool Listed in the season overview

The items cover four practical roles: tracking opponents, disrupting structures, moving through the map, and creating unusual combat states. The overview describes their intended abilities, but it does not establish damage values, cooldowns, rarity tables, or a complete vault and unvault schedule.

What weapons and Unstable Exotics were introduced?

Alongside the Hero Items, Epic named three regular weapons and three Unstable Exotics. The latter were defined by special effects rather than simply being stronger versions of standard guns.

Weapon or Exotic Effect described in the season overview
Spire Rifle Named as a Super-season weapon
Hyperburst Pistol Named as a Super-season weapon
Deadeye DMR Named as a Super-season weapon
Unstable Yoink Shotgun Had a distinctive pull effect
Unstable Voltage Burst Pistol Produced a shockwave effect
Unstable Frostfire Shotgun Applied a Pepper effect and slowdown

The named list is a feature overview, not a complete weapon-balance sheet. No independent numeric damage, fire-rate, range, or pick-rate statistics were established for these weapons in the official material used here.

What did the Boons and Sprites change?

Boons added persistent-style match benefits, and Epic said their strength increased with Hero Rank. Super also changed the Sprite pool shown on the map.

Boon Effect
Storm Caller Replenished Shield while the player was in the Storm
Speed Healer Allowed sprinting while healing and granted Slap
Combat Acrobat Reloaded weapons through parkour
Heightened Senses Marked attackers

Dash Sprite and Superman Sprite replaced Air and Water Sprites on the map in the season overview. The replacement is a seasonal map-pool change; it does not mean that every Sprite mechanic from earlier chapters was permanently removed from Fortnite.

Which bosses and rewards were part of Super?

Super’s two named boss encounters offered Mythic weapons and Medallions. Epic presented these as the rewards for defeating the characters, not as independently tested drop guarantees beyond the season announcement.

Mask Maker Daigo

Defeating Daigo at Demon’s Domain rewarded the Mythic Enhanced Spire Rifle and the Infernal Defenses Medallion.

Kor

Kor was described as a lieutenant. Her rewards were the Mythic Kor’s Deadeye DMR and the Shrouded Striker Medallion.

What was in the Super Battle Pass?

The Super Battle Pass used XP earned in Fortnite experiences to unlock free and premium rewards. Epic listed Robin, Haylee Skye, Ziggy, Synthwave, Killswitch, Lightrider, and Morgan Myst among its Outfits.

At the time of the season, Epic said the Pass cost 1,000 V-Bucks or was available through Fortnite Crew. Those were 2025 season terms, not a current price promise. The announcement also covered launch Twitch Drops and tournaments; the stated Twitch Drop period ended June 15, 2025.

Was Fortnite on Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive to Super?

No. Nintendo Switch 2 was an optional platform that Epic said supported Fortnite in time for Super; the season itself was not exclusive to that console. Epic also announced the Wishing Star Emote for players who logged in on the new console by March 31, 2026, a deadline that has now passed.

The console detail matters when reading old announcements: platform support, a promotional login reward, and the Battle Royale season were related announcements, but they were not the same thing. Playing Super did not require Nintendo Switch 2.

What did Fortnite Ecosystem v36.20 add?

Epic’s official Fortnite Ecosystem v36.20 post, published July 15, 2025, listed three additions: the Unstable Thunderclap DMR, Lightrider’s Surf Cube, and the Unstable Bounce Grenade. It also listed Utopia City prefabs and galleries for Fortnite creators.

This was an ecosystem and Creative update summary. The post should not be used as proof that those entries form the complete Battle Royale patch list for v36.20, nor that it records every change made during Super. In particular, the season overview and this ecosystem post do not supply a release-by-release technical changelog with every balance adjustment, bug fix, or temporary playlist change.

How should you read these Super patch notes today?

For an archived feature reference, organize the season around four systems: rank progression and rewards, traversal and mobility, combat and tracking, and map or boss changes. That structure separates mechanics that affected a whole match from individual loot items and from location-specific encounters.

Rank progression and rewards

Hero Rank connected deeds to Effective Health, better caches, and eventually missing Boons. It was the season’s central progression loop and was shared across a party.

Traversal and mobility

Robin’s Grapnel Gun, Surf Cube, Killswitch Revolvers, Bass Boost’s launch effect, and the later Storm Beast and Myst abilities represented movement in different forms: grappling, surfing, dodging, launching, transformation, and temporary invulnerability.

Combat and tracking

Myst Gauntlets, the Tracking Visor, Bass Boost, the Killswitch Revolvers, and the Unstable Exotics supplied direct fighting, information, structure pressure, or unusual status effects.

Map and encounter changes

Supernova Academy, Utopia City, Demon’s Domain, Daigo, Kor, the Sprite replacement, and the rank-gated Tech Lab rooms made the map itself part of the season’s feature set.

Where can you verify current Fortnite season information?

Epic Support directs players to Fortnite News for current season news, Battle Pass details, patch notes, and seasonal events. That is the appropriate place to check an active season or confirm whether an older feature has returned, been vaulted, or received a later revision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Was Hero Rank permanent account progression?

No. Epic described players as starting at rank C in each match, so the system was match-based rather than a permanent account level. Progress earned in one match should not be interpreted as an account-wide rank carried into the next game.

Can players still claim the Wishing Star Emote from the Switch 2 promotion?

The announced claim window required logging in on Nintendo Switch 2 by March 31, 2026. That deadline has passed, and the season announcement does not promise a later reissue or retroactive claim path.

Did every Hero Item appear when the season launched?

No. Epic specifically marked Surf Cube, Storm Beast’s Pom Poms, and Myst Form as coming later in the season. The overview gives no exact arrival dates for those items, so an archived launch inventory should not be assumed from the full announced list.

Where are Fortnite’s current patch notes and seasonal announcements published?

Epic Support points players to Fortnite News for current season news, Battle Pass information, patch notes, and events. Use that hub rather than treating a 2025 Super overview or the v36.20 ecosystem post as a current changelog.
