How we rank

Hosting lists: the Loadout score (0 to 100)

• 40 points: what a GB of RAM really costs on the host's cheapest published plan for that game, against the other hosts on the same list.
• 20 points: a free tier (15) or a free trial (5).
• 20 points: how many plans the host publishes, up to eight.
• 15 points: prices read in the last 30 days (7 if older).
• 5 points: a priced plan for that game on record.

Prices come from each host's own pages and show the day we read them. Prices in credits, or plans for another product, never stand in for a game's price.

Server lists

We read every listed server ourselves every five minutes and order the list by players online. Ping is measured from our probe in the data centre.

Games

We do not rank games. A game's page shows the record (release dates, platforms, studios, age ratings) from Wikidata (CC0), each line with its source and date. Where sources disagree, we say so instead of choosing.

Paid places

Sold places are shown where they were bought. They never change a score, a rank or a fact. See our disclosure.
