Summer Game Fest Live 2025 took place on June 6, 2025, in a reported two-hour broadcast from 9:00 to 11:00 PM UTC. It mixed world-premiere reveals, gameplay and story trailers, release-date updates, and live-service event news. The largest surprises included Resident Evil Requiem, Mortal Shell II, and new footage from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Capcom also detailed the next year of Street Fighter 6 and showed a new Onimusha: Way of the Sword trailer. recap.games lists 49 announcements or games in its event timeline; that is a listing-level total, not an independently audited figure from the show’s organizer. The dates below are preserved as they were reported in June 2025, so they should be read as historical announcements rather than promises of an upcoming 2025 launch.
What was announced at Summer Game Fest 2025?
The showcase’s central pattern was contrast: a handful of major reveals were surrounded by updates, release-date confirmations, co-op introductions, and short appearances from a much longer list of games. GameSpot described the program as a two-hour show spanning multiple platforms, while recap.games’ timeline records 49 entries. The most substantial announcements were the reveal of Resident Evil Requiem, the sequel announcement for Mortal Shell II, a narrative cutscene from Death Stranding 2, and the first details of Street Fighter 6’s Year 3 character schedule.
Because the available roundups do not provide the same level of detail for every entry, this guide separates fully described trailers from titles that are confirmed only by their appearance in the event timeline.
The headline reveals
- Resident Evil Requiem: Capcom revealed a new mainline Resident Evil game starring Grace Ashcroft, with both first-person and third-person play options.
- Mortal Shell II: Presented as a sequel, with contemporary coverage reporting a 2026 release window for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach: A cutscene preview focused on Neil, played by Luca Marinelli, and Lucy, played by Alissa Jung. Danamic reported a June 26, 2025 release date at the time.
- Chronicles: Medieval: Raw Power Games’ debut was shown in an announcement trailer combining cinematic material and gameplay, with Tom Hardy providing voiceover. PC Early Access was reported for 2026.
- Code Vein II: Coverage reported a 2026 launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.
Which new game trailers received the most detail?
Resident Evil Requiem introduces Grace Ashcroft
Capcom used its June 12, 2025 recap to confirm the reveal and describe the protagonist. The publisher’s wording was: “Introducing a new protagonist with Grace Ashcroft, Resident Evil Requiem puts players up against new horrors with the option to play either in first-person or third-person perspectives.” That perspective choice is the clearest mechanical detail supplied in the immediate announcement. The Summer Game Fest appearance established the game’s existence and premise; the recap did not provide a launch date or a platform list.
Mortal Shell II was presented as a 2026 sequel
Mortal Shell II was one of GameSpot’s opening surprises and appeared in the contemporaneous coverage as a sequel rather than a minor update. Danamic reported the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC, with a 2026 window. Those details describe the information available during the 2025 show and should not be treated as a current release-status check.
Chronicles: Medieval mixed cinematic and gameplay footage
The announcement trailer for Chronicles: Medieval alternated between cinematic scenes and gameplay. Tom Hardy’s voiceover was part of the presentation, and Danamic identified the project as Raw Power Games’ debut. The reported plan was PC Early Access in 2026; no other platform or more precise date was supplied in the cited coverage.
Out of Words and LEGO Voyagers emphasized two-player co-op
PC Gamer’s live report described Out of Words as a two-player co-op platformer planned for 2026. The same coverage identified LEGO Voyagers as a two-player co-op adventure. The reports did not state launch platforms for either game in the event coverage used here.
ARC Raiders received a dated release announcement
ARC Raiders was given an October 30, 2025 release date in both PC Gamer’s live reporting and Danamic’s roundup. The announcement functioned as a date update rather than a first identification of the project. The cited reports do not establish a platform list in this context.
Jurassic World Evolution 3 and Mina the Hollower got specific dates
PC Gamer recorded October 21, 2025 for Jurassic World Evolution 3. Its live notes also gave Mina the Hollower an October 31 date and mentioned a demo. Neither report supplied enough platform detail here to add a reliable platform comparison.
What updates and franchise news did Capcom show?
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom’s official recap singled out the latest Onimusha: Way of the Sword trailer as one of its three principal Summer Game Fest beats. The appearance was an update to an announced game, not a brand-new franchise reveal. The recap confirms the trailer but does not attach a launch date or platform list to this showcase appearance.
Street Fighter 6 Year 3 character schedule
The show also supplied a staged timetable for four Street Fighter 6 characters. Capcom’s June 2025 schedule was:
| Character | Timing announced at the event | What the timing means |
|---|---|---|
| Sagat | Summer 2025 | First character in the Year 3 lineup |
| C. Viper | Autumn 2025 | Second scheduled addition |
| Alex | Early spring 2026 | Third scheduled addition |
| Ingrid | Late spring 2026 | Fourth scheduled addition |
These seasons are the timetable announced in June 2025. They are not a guarantee that every date remains unchanged, and the recap does not provide day-level launch dates.

The following entries are drawn from the recap.games event timeline and the dedicated roundups from GameSpot, Danamic, and PC Gamer. Where those sources supplied a trailer type, platform, or date, it is included. How should the 2025 release dates be read now?
Every date in this roundup is a contemporaneous report from June 2025. October 21 for Jurassic World Evolution 3, October 30 for ARC Raiders, October 31 for Mina the Hollower, and June 26 for Death Stranding 2 describe what the outlets reported during or immediately after the showcase. They are not a present-day statement about availability, delays, regional launches, or later platform changes.
The same caution applies to the 2026 windows for Mortal Shell II, Code Vein II, Chronicles: Medieval, and Out of Words, as well as the seasonal Street Fighter 6 schedule. A showcase date is an announcement snapshot; later publisher updates are required to establish the final shipping status.
Which trailers deserve a follow-up watch?
If you want to revisit only the most consequential footage, start with Resident Evil Requiem for its new protagonist and selectable camera perspectives, then watch Mortal Shell II for the sequel’s broader platform and 2026 positioning. Death Stranding 2 is the key story-focused clip, while Chronicles: Medieval is the clearest new-studio introduction. For ongoing content rather than a new game, Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 Year 3 lineup and the Onimusha trailer are the essential updates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Did every game in the 49-entry timeline receive a full trailer?
No. The timeline is a checklist of appearances, and the available dedicated reports describe only some entries in detail. For several games, the reliable information is limited to the title being included in the event listing.
Which Summer Game Fest 2025 announcement was a story-focused preview rather than a reveal?
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach used a cutscene centered on Neil and Lucy, making it a narrative preview of an already announced game rather than a first announcement. The contemporary report attached a June 26, 2025 release date to that appearance.
Where did Capcom publish its event-specific schedule?
Capcom summarized its Summer Game Fest announcements in a publisher recap dated June 12, 2025. That recap is the source for the named Street Fighter 6 Year 3 seasons, the Onimusha trailer mention, and the description of Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem.
Are the 2025 dates in this list still upcoming?
No. They are historical dates reported during the 2025 showcase period. To determine whether a game launched on schedule, was delayed, or changed platforms, consult a later announcement from its publisher or platform holder.
