You can find the main Cyberpunk: Edgerunners references in Cyberpunk 2077 by following three update waves: the free Patch 1.6 collectibles David’s Jacket and Guts, the Update 2.0 Columbarium memorials and perk icons, and the Patch 2.1 hangout that uses “I Really Want to Stay at Your House.” The free Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5) adds a Wakako gig, Weak Kingsley’s gear, a radio station and more locations recreated from the new season. Start with the jacket and shotgun if you want a quick collectible hunt; use the location pilgrimage below if you want to visit the anime’s Night City settings.
Spoiler note: The collectible steps reveal a few Season 1 details, and the location tour names scenes across both seasons. The 2.5 gig was written to be relatively spoiler-light, but the episode-by-episode Season 2 section is not.
Which updates added the Edgerunners references?
The references were added in waves, not as one complete collection. The dates matter: the David and Rebecca pickups arrived with Patch 1.6, the Columbarium and perk nods with Update 2.0, the romantic hangout in Patch 2.1, and the new gig and Season 2 content with the free 2.5 update.
| Update | What Edgerunners hunters can find |
|---|---|
| Patch 1.6, September 2022 | Over the Edge, David’s Jacket, Guts, and environmental details around Megabuilding H4. |
| Update 2.0, September 2023 | Columbarium memorials and perk icons referencing David, Lucy and Rebecca. The update arrived alongside Phantom Liberty, but these memorials are base-game content. |
| Patch 2.1 | The romantic hangout job and dance cue “I Really Want to Stay at Your House.” |
| Update 2.5, 22 October 2026 | A Wakako gig involving Weak Kingsley, Night City Prison, Weak’s outfit and Coronation revolver, HKGN 102.FM, and additional game features and Season 2 references. |
There is no official CD PROJEKT RED total for “every” Edgerunners Easter egg. This guide covers the documented pickups, memorials, mechanics and notable location matches; it does not claim that the list is a complete developer-audited count. Xbox One last received a patch on 8 November 2022, so the later content in this guide is for Series X|S, PS5 and current PC builds.
How do you get David’s Jacket in Over the Edge?
David’s Jacket is the reward for the Patch 1.6 side job Over the Edge. You do not enter David’s apartment: Megabuilding H4 is quarantined in 2077, and its entrance is sealed.
- Fast travel to Metro Wollesen Street in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. Some guides spell the stop Wollenson Street. Find the yellow Megabuilding H4 tower marked “NO ENTRY.”
- Go into the alley beside the entrance and look for green Edgerunners graffiti. Loot the braindance from the nearby trash can. It shows the cyberpsycho XBD David watches in the first episode.
- Playing the braindance starts Over the Edge. Open your journal and text Muamar “El Capitan” Reyes. Choose the “About David Martinez” topic, then ask about David.
- Sleep for 24 hours at an apartment. Waiting out on the street can be unreliable for advancing the job.
- Reply to Falco’s message and collect the jacket from the crate at El Capitan’s meet, in the Dam Viewpoint area.
The reward is a unique wardrobe cosmetic, not a new armor system or a piece of equipment that changes combat stats. Falco, the crew’s nomad driver and one of Season 1’s two survivors, arranges for V to receive it. His message says the old crew’s “15 minutes were up” and warns V not to go looking for them.
Where is Guts, Rebecca’s shotgun?
Guts is a free world pickup in Corpo Plaza; no quest or expansion is required. It is Rebecca’s iconic power shotgun, tucked into a bush near the monks and the Militech building.
- Fast travel to Arasaka Tower in Corpo Plaza, City Center.
- Head right and go up the stairs, past the holographic koi and giant glass panel, in the direction of the Militech building.
- Before the stairs leading down, turn right toward the monks on the grass.
- Search the large bush closest to the hedge for Guts.
If the weapon does not stand out, search the greenery around the monks rather than the plaza’s main path. Guts is a pickup, so you can collect it while passing through even if you are not following the anime-location route.
Where can you order The David Martinez?
Go to the Afterlife in Little China, Watson, and talk to Claire. The menu includes a drink called “The David Martinez.” It is a bar-menu reference rather than a separate quest reward. The Afterlife also appears prominently in both anime seasons, making it a natural stop on a location tour.
Where are the Season 1 locations in Night City?
The locations below make a practical district-by-district pilgrimage. Some are recognizable exteriors or interiors; others are approximate matches, gated areas or places where the anime’s original occupant is no longer present in 2077. Episode references are included to help you choose how much of the show you want to revisit.
Santo Domingo and Arroyo
- Megabuilding H4 and Wollesen Street metro: The exterior and nearby station are associated with David’s walk to school in Episode 1. You can inspect the graffiti and start Over the Edge, but the apartment building itself is off-limits because it is quarantined.
- David’s ripperdoc clinic: In Arroyo, fast travel to Mission Waterfront and walk along the pier to a shop marked “RipperDoc Open.” The anime doctor is gone and another ripperdoc occupies the location. A separate map match places the clinic north of H4 near a 6th Street marking, so treat the exact storefront as a location recreation rather than an unchanged set.
- Buck-a-Slice: In Arroyo, fast travel to Republic East and turn around to find the diner.
- Maine’s chop shop and hangout: Look around San Amaro Street in Rancho Coronado, among storage containers after the overhead freeway.
- Gloria’s highway ambush: The highway above H4 is identified as the ambush area, close to where Gloria is almost home.
- The hospital after Gloria is shot: The location match is a psychiatric facility in Rancho Coronado; the relevant scene is on the second floor.
Watson
- Afterlife: The bar is the setting for the Episode 4 drink reference. The booth used by Faraday is the same booth V uses with Rogue.
- Rebecca and Pilar’s apartment: In Northside, Longshore North, find the billboard building and go to the second floor; the apartment is to the left past a vending machine. Access is tied to the nearby gig Scrolls Before Swine. The documented route involves provoking Aaron into a fight and then entering after killing him. This is the apartment Rebecca shared with Pilar.
- Kiwi’s apartment building: In Kabuki, find Sutter Street, go left toward Yaiba Tower and enter the alley door. Take the elevator to the 13th floor. The building is also used by Regina Jones, and the anime apartment interior has been overwritten, so the game does not preserve Kiwi’s exact room. In Episode 8, Faraday is shown waiting near the lobby elevators.
- Jimmy Kurosaki’s braindance lab: Fandomwire maps the lab to Northside, Watson, by a blue overpass with a Maelstrom symbol; stairs lead to an interior that matches the anime. This is a community-mapped match, not a numbered collectible.
- Totentanz: The Maelstrom club and hotel in Northside match the street and interior used in Episode 7 during Julio’s death. The location returns in Season 2 when Roman is captured on Pershing Street.
- Tom’s Diner: In Little China, this is a meeting point in both seasons. In Season 1, Faraday and Douglas appear there; Season 2 uses it for Weak and Avida. VULKK notes a continuity difference: in the show Weak waits across the street, while the game scene places him beside the diner.
- Shooting practice: The 2nd Amendment gun shop across from Megabuilding H10, V’s starter apartment building, is the shooting-practice setting.
Westbrook
- Turbo Bar: In Japantown, use the MegaBuilding H8 or HB fast-travel point and head down toward the water. It is a crew hangout.
- Lucy’s apartment building: The building is across from Turbo Bar. The interior is locked, but the rooftop is reachable by parkour. It is the setting associated with Lucy’s moon-view scenes.
- North Oak Columbarium: The memorials added in Update 2.0 are here; their exact positions are covered below.
City Center and the endgame
- Corpo Plaza crime scene: David walks past this cyberpsycho crime scene on the way to Arasaka Academy in Episode 1. It is also the plaza where Guts can be found.
- Jogging pier: On Corporation Street in Downtown, this is the route associated with David and Lucy’s run. Photo Mode can help compare the view.
- Memorial Park metro: The metro area is linked to David’s nosebleed and fainting after his first Sandevistan job in Episode 2.
- David and Lucy’s luxury apartment: Its interior model is used for V’s Path of Glory or Rogue-ending epilogue apartment, but it is not freely explorable during an ordinary playthrough. The view is not a one-to-one match: Trigger changed the skyline.
- Arasaka Tower interiors: Areas used during David’s first cyberpsychosis episode match locations from the game’s Belly of the Beast sequence.
- Faraday holding Lucy: The balcony is mapped to apartments on the 12th story in Charter Hill, accessible through the Until Death Do Us Part gig.
Combat scenes and set pieces
- Animals fight: The fight where Rebecca saves David is in front of the Wild Blue Hotel and Spa, near the Coastview and West Wind Estate border in Pacifica.
- Cyberskeleton convoy: The eastern Badlands, around the Old Turbines area and the Sunshine Motel decoy, is the Episode 9 match.
- Finale chase and tower roof: These scenes map to City Center and Arasaka Tower. Adam Smasher is both a game boss and the character who kills David and Rebecca in the anime.
Where are the Columbarium memorials?
The Update 2.0 memorials are at the Columbarium in the southern hills of North Oak, Westbrook. Drive along the far-right edge of the map or fast travel there. A police patrol may be present, so avoid turning a visit to the memorial into a shootout.
The plaques are holographic memorials, and their lines are presented in Lucy’s voice. Look in these areas:
- Kiwi: In the outside section to the right, separated from the other crew memorials.
- Rebecca, Pilar, Dorio and Maine: Near the center. Pilar, Dorio and Maine share a plaque.
- David and Gloria: In the enclosed section at the end; Gloria’s memorial is just below David’s. David’s plaque is toward the back right.
The epitaphs read:
- David Martinez: “You didn’t take me to the moon, but you were there with me.”
- Gloria Martinez: “You were right. David reached the top Arasaka Tower.”
- Rebecca: “I regret not finishing our conversation.”
- Pilar, Dorio and Maine: “You were the only family I ever had.”
- Kiwi: “You taught me to never trust anyone in NC.”
The memorial holograms add identifying details: Rebecca’s niche shows her headpiece and shotguns alongside the Edgerunner insignia; David’s includes his graffiti tag and a Sandevistan. These tributes arrived in the free Update 2.0 window alongside Phantom Liberty; they are not restricted to Dogtown or ownership of the expansion.
Which other Season 1 references are tied to gameplay?
Update 2.0 and Patch 2.1 added small references that are easy to miss if you only search for objects. They connect the series to the game’s systems and music rather than adding another obvious collectible.
Perk icons and the Edgerunner perk
Update 2.0 overhauled the attribute and perk systems. Several perk icons reference David, Lucy and Rebecca. The Tech tree’s Edgerunner perk is the clearest mechanical echo of David’s increasingly extreme cyberware: it lets V exceed cyberware capacity.
“I Really Want to Stay at Your House”
Patch 2.1 added a romantic hangout job titled after the Rosa Walton and Let’s Eat Grandma track. The song plays while V dances with a partner. It was already on the game’s radio before the anime used it as David and Lucy’s theme in Episodes 2 and 10; the show made an existing game song a stronger story reference.
What does the Edgerunners 2 Update add?
The free Update 2.5, released on 22 October 2026, adds a new Wakako gig that leads V into a high-stakes mission with Weak Kingsley, played by Clancy Brown in the show. The mission introduces Night City Prison and provides a way to meet Weak during V’s 2077 mercenary career.
How to approach the new gig
CD PROJEKT RED describes the gig as a prequel to the events of Edgerunners 2. You can play it before the anime for extra Episode 1 context or afterward to get a broader view of Weak’s crew. The official write-up is spoiler-light, so watching the season first is optional for this mission; recognizing most of the show’s location recreations is a different matter.
The new gig is not just a cameo. CD PROJEKT RED PR Manager Joao De Mello told Xbox Wire: “The new ‘Edgerunners 2’ gig is more than a chance to encounter characters from the anime in the game — it serves as a prequel to the events of the series.” The game’s events precede the new season, which takes place after Cyberpunk 2077.
New character items and radio
- Weak’s outfit: The update adds his vest, glasses, coat and pants.
- Coronation: Weak’s signature revolver is a new weapon.
- HKGN 102.FM: The new radio station plays official tracks from both Edgerunners seasons.
Other features in Update 2.5
The 2.5 update is broader than its anime tie-ins. CD PROJEKT RED lists dual wielding for pistols and revolvers—the largest combat addition since the throwing knives introduced with 2.0—alongside cosmetic options and quality-of-life features.
- Forty cyberware appearance styles are available across five Glamdoc vendors, plus 20 new hairstyles and additional clothing sets.
- Twelve new minor arcana tarot cards and Night City Tours narrated by Richard Night add exploration content.
- Cross-platform mods through mod.io, stash filters, per-save libraries, and Photo Mode poses for dual wielding and Cyberpunk TCG frames are included.
- Xbox Play Anywhere support is included for the game.
Where are the Season 2 locations in the game?
Major Season 2 spoilers: The VULKK map covers all 10 episodes, and many scenes use visitable Night City locations. The season premiered on 20 October 2026. These are location matches, not additional quest pickups, and a game location may differ in its exact staging from the animated shot.
Episode 1 and the early-season route
- Arasaka Industrial Park: The heist warehouse is in Arroyo and can be entered. It is also the location associated with Give Me Danger and the Shingen Mark V.
- Night City MedCenter: The Little China location is used in the early episode. The identification of the hospital as the same one associated with V’s Tower-ending aftermath is disputed; do not treat that connection as confirmed.
- Weak’s former Glen apartment: The apartment is in the same building as V’s purchasable Glen apartment.
- Afterlife and its rear street: The Afterlife appears again, as does the street behind its fast-travel point where a beating takes place. The official Edgerunners account confirmed a fan’s match between a trailer puddle and the puddle outside the Afterlife: “You know Night City like the palm of your hand, choom.”
- Totentanz: The old hotel on Pershing Street is where Roman is captured.
- Roman’s shack: Look above a Kabuki ripperdoc near Allen Street.
- Pacifica beach: The beach near the roller coaster and Grand Imperial Mall is another match.
- Tom’s Diner: The diner returns for the reunion scene.
Other mapped Season 2 stops
For a shorter route beyond Episode 1, these community-mapped pins cover a range of districts and story moments:
- Pinewood Street South: The sidewalk where Roman meets D, with Megabuilding H8 in frame.
- The “23” tower building: Associated with Helio’s takedown.
- All Foods Plant: The facility from The Pickup is reused as a setting.
- Ripperdoc Farida Nazeri: The Golden Pacific location is in Dogtown, the Phantom Liberty district.
- El Coyote Cojo: The bar is in The Glen.
- Yupi’s apartment: The match is Hiromi’s Clouds penthouse in Megabuilding H8, unlocked during Pisces.
- Jig-Jig Street food stall and North Oak drive-in: Both appear among the show’s mapped locations.
- Sunset Motel: The Badlands motel is another stop.
- Corpo Plaza and Rancho Coronado: The map includes a riot in the plaza and the highway EMP sequence in Rancho Coronado.
- Finale and goodbye: The finale is mapped northeast of Arasaka Tower in Corpo Plaza; Talia’s goodbye is near Japantown West.
The Season 2 map is a location pilgrimage, not a scavenger list. Some pins are straightforward matches, while others depend on camera angle, time of day or scene context; KhrazeGaming independently matched early-episode sites and noted close sun-angle and time-of-day recreations.
How do the seasons fit the game’s timeline?
Season 1 is a prequel to the game, while Season 2 takes place after it. Keeping those timelines separate explains why the old crew’s memorials exist in 2077 and why the new gig can introduce Weak before his Season 2 story.
Edgerunners takes place in 2075–2076 and ends months before V’s 2077 story. David is already a dead street legend when the game begins; H4 is quarantined, and tributes to the crew are in place. Falco and Lucy survived Season 1. Series writer Bartosz Sztybor said at Anime Expo 2025 that the fallen stay dead.
The 2.5 gig overlaps V’s mercenary career but serves as a prequel to Season 2; the show itself is after the game. Specific claims about a precise year for Season 2 or the timing of particular game endings are not established by CD PROJEKT RED’s description, so avoid treating fan timeline interpretations as official dates. Edgerunners is canon to the game, and shared figures such as Rogue, Wakako and Adam Smasher belong to the same Night City.
What should not be counted as an Edgerunners Easter egg?
Update 2.5 also adds a separate Witcher crossover, including secret gear. That is a different CDPR reference hunt, not Edgerunners content. Likewise, a familiar Night City location is not automatically a unique collectible: distinguish a scene recreation from an item you can pick up or a quest you can complete.
