    Support Materia

    Support Materia is a type of Materia that adds support abilities when paired with another Materia. Support Materia provides no stat boosts or penalties.

    MateriaEffect
    AllAllows certain spells to be cast on all allies/enemies.
    ElementalGives the equipped weapon or armor the elemental properties of the paired Materia.
    Added EffectAllows you to inflict or become immune to the paired Materia's status effect.
    HP AbsorbRestores HP equal to 10% of the damage caused by the paired Materia.
    MP AbsorbRestores MP equal to 1% of the damage caused by the paired Materia.
    MP TurboIncreases the damage caused by the paired Materia, but uses extra MP as well.
    Added CutWhen you use the paired Materia, the party member will follow up with a standard attack.
    Steal as WellWhen you use the paired Materia, the party member will attempt to steal as well.
    Sneak AttackOffers a chance that the party member will begin the battle the paired Materia.
    Quadra MagicCasts the paired Materia four times at half damage, but at the normal MP cost.
    Magic CounterOffers a chance of countering an attack with the paired Magic Materia.
    CounterOffers a chance of countering an attack with the paired Command Materia.
    Final AttackCasts the paired Materia's spell when the player is KO'd. Most effective when paired with the Phoenix Summon Materia or the Revive Magic Materia.

    Independent Materia

    Independent Materia provides stat boosts and allows the use of support abilities during battle. Independent Materia doesn’t need to be paired with other Materia, making it different from Support Materia.

    Pre-EmptiveIncreases your chances of a pre-emptive attack.
    Enemy AwayDecreases the random encounter rate.
    Enemy LureIncreases the random encounter rate.
    Chocobo LureProvides a chance of encountering a Chocobo.
    CoverProvides a chance of protecting a party member and taking the damage.

    Mega AllAllows physical attacks, spells, and almost all commands to affect all allies or party members.
    UnderwaterAllows the party to breathe underwater, effectively removing the timer when facing Emerald Weapon.

    Summon Materia

    Summon Materia is a special type of Materia that allows the player to summon monsters in battle. Summon Materia is the only type of Materia that can’t be purchased anywhere in the game. The only Summon Materia that is obtained through the storyline is Shiva, so you’ll need to make a great deal of effort to get them all.
