Today, Niantic released the details of what Pokémon GO will look like heading into July. We got the specifics on Pokémon GO Fest, Community Day, Research Breakthrough Encounters, Spotlight Hours, upcoming events, and which Pokémon will be featured in Raids.

Community Day
The Community Day for July will feature a more common Pokémon, Starly. However, in addition to being able to catch more Starly, you can also get other bonuses. If you evolve Staravia into Staraptor, you can have a Staraptor get the fast attack Gust. You can read more details on what will be involved with this Community Day here.
Research Breakthrough Encounters
After collecting seven Field Research stamps, you can unlock a Research Breakthrough Encounter. When this happens, you can catch a special Pokémon—usually one that has a better rating. For July, this Pokémon will be Lickitung. You can catch Lickitung from Friday, July 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (4 p.m. EST) to Monday, August 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (4 p.m. EST).
Spotlight Hours
In July, every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, there will be a Spotlight Hour. Each Spotlight Hour will feature a different Pokémon with a different bonus:
- July 5: Ledyba (2x XP for catching Pokémon)
- July 12: Machop (2x Candy for catching Pokémon)
- July 19: Staryu (2x Candy for transferring Pokémon)
- July 26: Meditite (2x XP for evolving Pokémon)

There are two main events coming up this July for Pokémon GO:
- Pokémon GO Anniversary Event: Wednesday, July 6, 2022 – Tuesday, July 12, 2022
- Mystery Event: Wednesday, July 27, 2022 – Tuesday, August 2, 2022

A couple Pokémon GO Fests will be taking place in the month of July:
- Pokémon GO Fest Berlin: Friday, July 1, 2022 – Sunday, July 3, 2022
- Pokémon GO Fest Seattle: Friday, July 22, 2022 – Sunday, July 24, 2022
