The release trailer that dropped today informed us that No Man’s Sky will be coming to the Nintendo Switch soon, and that we will be getting a physical version of the game on the PS5.

No Man’s Sky was first announced for the Nintendo Switch months ago. Earlier today, on June 23, the official release trailer dropped, and we learned that No Man’s Sky will launch in both physical and digital form on the Switch. We will see the game come to the Switch on October 7, 2022, so the wait will not be long.

Through this announcement, we’ve learned that the Switch version of No Man’s Sky will include six years of content. This means that the Switch version will include over 20 updates that have been implemented for No Man’s Sky. The largest updates among these that added substantial changes to gameplay and visuals include:

  • Frontiers
  • Prisms
  • Expeditions
  • Companions
  • Outlaws
  • Leviathan

The developers also noted that No Man’s Sky Switch Edition will be launching as a single-player experience. But as a live-service game, the Switch version will still benefit from ongoing development after launch. The game will also take “full advantage of the Nintendo Switch touch screen.”

The last bit of information we got was that No Man’s Sky will not only be launching on the Switch, but we will be getting a physical version of the game for the PS5 as well. Note also that a few weeks ago, an upcoming release of No Man’s Sky was also announced for the PlayStation VR2. Soon, you’ll be able to play the game on almost all platforms.
