The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Has Been Delayed

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was set to launch on September 1, 2022. However, Daedalic Entertainment—the developer behind the game—announced today that the game will be delayed by at least a few months.

The team working on The Lord of the rings: Gollum shared a post today on Twitter regarding this delay. Firstly, they want to ensure us that they’re taking J. R. R. Tolkien’s vision quite seriously. “We are dedicated to meeting our community’s expectations and uncovering the untold story of Gollum in a way that honors the vision of J. R. R. Tolkien,” the post reads.

This directly relates to the reason behind the team’s decision to push the game’s launch date. “…In order to deliver the best possible experience, we have decided to push the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum by a few months.”

Sadly, “a few months” is as specific as the post gets as to when the game might actually be launching. However, the team notes that they will be updating us with the exact timing “in the near future,” so hopefully we won’t have to wait long before some news.

Unfortunately though, this means that the game will not be launching alongside Amazon’s show, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which is set to premiere on September 2, 2022.
