About VGKAMI

VGKAMI is an independent online gaming authority with a mission to be your one-stop source for walkthroughs, guides, tips, tricks, cheats, FAQs, and more. Gamers love our site because of the depth and detail of our guides. Not only do we tell you how to accomplish your gaming goals, but we also take high-quality screenshots detailing the entire process.

Fueled by our deep passion for all things game-related, our mission is to create the most accurate gaming guides on the internet by actually playing the games and writing the guides as we go. All VGKAMI content is written and verified by expert gamers. If something can’t be verified, then it’s not posted.

VGKAMI, founded in 2021, is based in Delaware, USA, with operations also running out of Tokyo, Japan.

Our Team of Expert Gamers and Writers

Our team of expert gamers also has a great deal of experience in writing about games.

Noel McDavid is a full-time content writer, marketer, and web designer who regularly contributes to VGKAMI. She’s been published on sites such as Game Rant, The Gamer, KeenGamer, and The Borgen Project. She also ghostwrites content marketing pieces for multiple clients. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and graduated with honors. Gaming has always been her favorite content subject, especially when it comes to The Legend of Zelda, Spyro the Dragon, and Super Mario.

Rhett Roxl is a professional writer who has been gaming for as long as he can remember. He merged both passions together to become a writer in the game industry in 2020. In addition to writing for VGKAMI, he also contributes to TheGamer and GameRant, where he’s published hundreds of games guides that have been read millions of times.

Andrew Verral is a contributing walkthrough and wiki writer that is based in the UK. He has spent an unhealthy amount of time playing Final Fantasy VIII but he also enjoys playing old favorites like Dark Souls, Transistor, and Populous: The Beginning. When he’s not writing walkthroughs for VGKAMI, he can be found educating even the most hardcore Final Fantasy fans in the Final Fantasy Discord server.

Cate Belasco is a professional writer with a degree in Journalism. She loves playing Single-Player and Co-Op RPGs. She used to write relationship, tourism, and self-help articles for several websites, and has published strategy guides on Game Rant.

Jessica Orr is a freelance entertainment writer who has also been published on sites such as GameRant, KeenGamer, and WhatCulture. Although she dabbles in many types of articles like News, Reviews, and Listicles, she has a genuine love for writing Guides.

Zhao Yu is a freelance writer from Malaysia who has previously published articles about various topics such as education, health, and business. An avid gamer herself, Zhao decided to pursue writing in the gaming industry. She will play anything that catches her fancy. Among her current interests are Stardew Valley (always has been), Hollow Knight, Guild Wars 2, and Them’s Fightin’ Herds.

Reyadh Rahaman is a storyteller who uses different mediums to see his tales come to life. Since the beginning of 2020, he has been writing full-time, both for non-fiction freelance contracts with websites like VGKami and Game Rant as well as for his work as an independent author of speculative fiction (fantasy, horror, and science fiction)

Management Team

VGKAMI is wholly owned and run by its founders, Lowell Heddings and Marshall Gunnell.

Lowell Heddings

Co-founder

Lowell Heddings corporate headshotLowell Heddings is the co-founder of VGKAMI. He’s usually behind the scenes overseeing site development and direction, and making sure the general day-to-day operations are running smoothly.

VGKAMI isn’t Lowell’s first site to build, though. He’s also the founder and CEO of How-To Geek, where he’s been running the show since creating the site back in 2006. Over the last decade, Lowell has personally written more than 1000 articles, which have been viewed by over 250 million people. After the success of How-To Geek, Lowell went on to build a network of successful websites, including Review Geek, LifeSavvy, and CloudSavvyIT.

Before starting How-To Geek, Lowell spent 15 years working in the IT field doing consulting, cybersecurity, database management, and programming. The last decade of his previous career, however, was spent mainly doing business automation for large corporations. The e-commerce integrations he created are still being used to automate billions of dollars worth of transactions today.

Marshall Gunnell

Co-founder

Marshall Gunnell hd corporate headshotMarshall Gunnell is the co-founder of VGKAMI. He’s a hardcore gamer and tech geek at heart. He’s also a professional writer, where he spends most of his time dissecting complicated subjects and turning them into easily consumable guides. His work can be found on sites such as PCWorld, How-To Geek, Zapier, StorageReview, CareerFoundry, and many others. Over the past three years, Marshall has published hundreds of articles that have been read over 50 million times.

Marshall, originally from Mississippi, currently resides in Tokyo, Japan, where he writes technical API/software documentation for an international IT company. Before that, he lived in Taipei, Taiwan where he was Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and a technical staff writer at StorageReview, a US-based online data storage authority.

Although his background is a bit technical, he’s always had a deep passion for video games—mainly story-rich RPGs. As a child, he would spend hours writing character dialog, item and weapon descriptions, character bios, event plots, and other RPG-focused content for a game he was creating in RPG Maker for the PS1. After finishing a chapter in the game, he would write a walkthrough for it with pencil and paper.

When he’s not writing, you’ll find him learning Japanese, drinking cheap whiskey, relaxing in Japanese onsens, and hiking the beautiful mountains of Japan.
