Way of the Samurai
Released as something of a swansong for the PS4 era, Ghost of Tsushima has become one of the bigger hits in Sony’s repertoire over the last two years. To commemorate the occasion, developer Sucker Punch shared a number of statistics on Twitter about what players have done on the island of Tsushima since the game launched. Can you believe that 75.18 million foxes have been pet? I would have figured the number was higher!
This weekend marks two years since the release of #GhostOfTsushima! We are blown away by all of the support since then and so grateful for all of you! Thank you to everyone who has played and shared this journey with us!

The Future is Bright
While Sucker Punch has stopped support for Ghost of Tsushima, it isn’t done with the series yet. News of a sequel hasn’t been confirmed, but these statistics make it blatantly clear that something new is being cooked up. We also know that Sony is developing a live-action film with director Chad Stahelski (John Wick) and writer Takashi Doscher (Only, Hear Us). The PS5 re-release of the game can be seen as something of a remaster, but it also included additional content that gave players more to do in the main release.
Sucker Punch doesn’t currently have plans to return to the Sly Cooper or inFamous series, but you should never say never when it comes to legacy franchises. Once we have our Ghost of Tsushima continuation, there’s every possibility that the thievius raccoonus will jump out from the shadows.
