Earlier today, the official Twitter page for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis – Global made an announcement. After waiting quite a while, Phantasy Star Online 2 will be coming to the west on PS4.
Phantasy Star Online 2 was first launched in 2012. According to the game’s Twitter page, Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will be launching on PS4 on August 31, 2022.
Though Phantasy Star Online 2 Classic was not included in the original tweet, the official Twitter account replied to their own post. Their comment reads, “Also yes! PSO2 classic is coming as well!!” It is unclear if this means we will be seeing Phantasy Star Online 2 Classic at the same time as New Genesis or if this means Classic will be forthcoming at a later date. Either way, we can consider this an official confirmation.
If you’re new to Phantasy Star, this could be a good time to jump in. You do not need to play the first Phantasy Star to grasp what’s going on in the second game. Phantasy Star Online 2 is an RPG that’s set in a futuristic universe. The story is centered around a colony fleet called Oracle that travels through deep space in search of habitable planets.
