The Museum is located in the southeast part of Pelican Town, just south of the blacksmith’s shop. Inside, you’ll find a Library and Gallery where they display a collection of Artifacts and Minerals. The Museum collection is initially empty. Gunther, the curator, wants your donations to complete it.

    About the Museum Collection

Donating items to Gunther in the Museum.

To complete the Museum Collection in Stardew Valley, you’ll need to discover and donate various Artifacts and Minerals to the Museum in Pelican Town. These items can be found through various means such as digging up Artifact Spots, combat, and even fishing. Not only does donating items to the Museum help fill its collection, but it also rewards players with valuable prizes such as Seeds, Furniture, and other unique items.

There are a total of 42 Artifacts and 53 Minerals you need to donate to complete the Museum collection. You can only donate one copy of an item to the Museum. It can be hard to keep track of what you’ve already donated, but you can easily tell by examining the item description in your inventory. If the description reads Gunther can tell you more about it if you don’t it to the museum, then you haven’t donated that particular item yet.

You can also rearrange items you’ve donated if you aren’t happy with the layout. You can do this by examining the paper to the left of Gunther’s desk or by interacting with the donation interface.

Where to Find All 42 Artifacts

You can find most Artifacts by excavating Artifact Spots in various locations, but there are multiple other ways to get them, as well. However, one specific Artifact requires you to slay a monster.
