Who is Rebecca?
In September 2022, an anime series inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 premiered on Netflix. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, animated by the popular Studio Trigger, is a prequel to the game and is set in the same universe.
A secondary character in the series, Rebecca is a young trigger-happy mercenary with a sassy mouth and unpredictable nature. Her hectic fighting style instantly made her a memorable part of the cast. Curiously, she was not created by CD Projekt Red, who penned the scripts–Studio Trigger created her, later convincing the studio to include her in the series.
Following the release of Edgerunners, Cyberpunk 2077 saw a major resurgence, reaching 1 million daily active players for a month straight.
