The Dectus Medallions are two pieces of a whole that, once reformed, will operate the Grand Lift of Dectus in Elden RingTheir use is optional, but it makes your trip easier as you complete your journey in the game.

The Grand Lift of Dectus will allow you to easily get to the Altus Plateau. This is the region where Leyndell, Royal Capital is situated and it is the home of the Erdtree.

The Dectus Medallion has two halves: The left medallion and the right medallion. Getting both of these is pretty straightforward, as long as you know exactly where you’re going.

The medallion is in a chest that’s sitting on top of the tallest tower of the fort. There’s a powerful knight, along with other enemies, in this fort. You can run up to the tallest tower if you want, or you can face the enemies head-on before getting the Dectus Medallion.

The second half of the Dectus Medallion is in Fort Faroth. You’ll find this in Dragonbarrow, Caelid.

Like the left half of the Dectus Medallion, you can also loot this from a chest. It is in the upper section of the fort. You can access this area by taking the ladder at the end of the room that’s full of giant bats and winged dames.

    The Grand Lift of Dectus

Once you have both medallions, you can then head to the Grand Lift of Dectus. This is located in northern Liurnia. You can reach this place by taking the Bellum highway north of Raya Lucaria Academy.

The lift will take you to the southwestern section of the Altus Plateau.

The Alternative Path to Altus Plateau

You can also enter Altus Plateau by going through the Ravine-Veiled Village and the Ruin-Strewn Precipice in northern Liurnia. Start from the lakes surrounding Raya Lucaria and ride north. Ride as far north as you can while staying on the waters. For its exact location, refer to the image below.

While you won’t need any medallions to reach Altus Plateau through here, you will need to fight your way forward. You’ll also need to defeat the Magma Wyrm Makar at the end of the Ruin-Strewn Precipice. At the end of the boss room, you’ll find an exit that leads directly to the Altus Plateau.
