When Naruto Becomes Hokage in the Anime
While many would have expected to see Naruto become the Hokage at the end of Naruto Shippuden, this did not actually happen. Instead, the show ends with Naruto getting married to Hinata, and Kakashi remaining as the sixth Hokage. Surprisingly, Naruto is already the Hokage by the beginning of the third main installment of the Naruto anime series, Boruto.
The exact moment Naruto becomes Hokage happens in an OVA episode between the events of Naruto Shippuden and Boruto. This OVA episode was included in the limited-edition DVD and Blu-ray releases of Boruto: Naruto the Movie.
You can also get a glimpse of Naruto becoming Hokage in episode 18 of the Boruto series, A Day in the Life of the Uzumaki Family. However, this happens strictly through a flashback to the events.
When Naruto Becomes Hokage in the Manga
In the manga, Naruto becomes Hokage as a part of Boruto: Naruto the Movie Special Extra Chapter: The Day Naruto Became Hokage. This is considered a manga-omake included with Zai no Sho (or Naruto Secret: Scroll of Country Official Moviebook). This omake is what was adapted into the OVA episode in the anime.
