Purah's first appearance in Tears of the Kingdom. She is wearing glasses and has white hair.

The NPC who gives you the Paraglider is named Purah. You can find her in Lookout Landing—on the second floor of the building with the large telescope. The first time you go up here, an introduction cutscene for Purah plays.

Following the cutscene and some dialogue, Purah asks you to check in with Captain Hoz about Princess Zelda’s whereabouts. Spoiler alert: he has no idea where she is.

After getting the quest update, head north and use the Ultrahand ability to open the large metal gate on the bridge north of Lookout Landing. On the way, we recommend completing the Shrine just south of this bridge, as this unlocks a fast travel point. This will make traveling back to Lookout Landing quicker.

Next, proceed down the mountain path until you reach a fortress that was once part of Hyrule Castle. Climb to the upper part of this fortress and look for a male NPC wearing red: Captain Hoz.

After another cutscene and a bit more dialogue, you need to return to Purah in Lookout Landing. Sadly, there’s no fast travel directly to Lookout Landing, however, there’s a Shrine just south of the bridge leading out of this small outpost. If you completed it beforehand, use this fast travel point to get back to Lookout Landing.

Go back to the building with the large telescope. On the second floor, Purah is waiting for you. Speak to her to fill her in on your conversation with Captain Hoz. Afterward, Purah will tell you about Skyview Towers and will point out the one in Lookout Landing.

When the cutscene is over, you can head to the Skyview Tower as soon as you want. Meeting up with Purah at the base of the tower results in her giving you an overview of how unlocking parts of the map work. Once she’s done with the explanation, Purah finally gives you the Paraglider.

At this point, you might as well use the Skyview Tower in Lookout Landing to uncover the map of the surrounding area. However, that’s all you need to do to get the Paraglider!

Use it to sail around the skies of Hyrule, explore with a birds-eye view, and avoid plummeting to your death. It can even be helpful in spotting Koroks. May there always be wind beneath your wings, adventurers!
