When you first start Quaquaval Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you’re tasked with choosing between Quaxly, Sprigatito, and Fuecoco as your starter Pokémon. If you chose Quaxly, here’s how you can evolve it into Quaxwell and, eventually, Quaquaval.
How to Get Quaxly
When you first start the game, you can choose Quaxly as your starter Pokémon. Unfortunately, Quaxly doesn’t spawn in the Paldea region, so you can’t find it roaming in the wild, so if you choose Quaxly at the beginning of the game, the only other way to get it is to trade Pokémon with a friend.

How to Evolve Quaxly Into Quaxwell
Evolving Quaxly into Quaxwell doesn’t require any special items, but it does require a bit of hard work. Keep Quaxly in your party and continue to battle with Pokémon you encounter. Eventually, Quaxly will evolve into Quaxwell when it reaches level 16.
You can speed up the leveling process by taking advantage of the new Picnic mechanic, which allows you to grow closer with your Pokémon and boost the experience they receive after battle.
You can’t find Quaxwell roaming the Paldea region.

How to Evolve Quaxwell Into Quaquaval
Evolving Quaxwell into Quaquaval is just as straightforward, but takes a bit more time. Continue to battle and gain experience to raise your Quaxwell’s level. Quaxwell will evolve into Quaquaval once it reaches level 36.
As with any other Pokémon, building a closer bond with them helps speed the leveling-up process, so be sure to have picnics with your Quaxwell. EXP Candies and Rare Candy will also help Quaxwell reach a higher level more quickly.
You can’t find Quaquaval in the wild.
