After many years in development, the Skyrim Together Reborn mod is now officially available for download from Nexus Mods. As the title suggests, it adds multiplayer co-op support (up to 30 players) to Bethesda’s mega-successful open-world RPG.

Skyrim is a game that needs no introduction at this point. Available on practically every platform imaginable (and even Amazon Echo), Bethesda’s popular RPG has had an active modding community for more than 10 years now. It was only a matter of time before a co-op mod came around. Skyrim Together Reborn looks to link players together on their journies across the land of Skyrim as they battle dragons, complete quests, and otherwise live their second lives in Bethesda’s digital world.
An introductory video on the mod team’s YouTube page catches players up to speed on what they’ll need to start adventuring with friends. The Together Reborn mod requires that players own Skyrim Special Edition on Steam. It must be version 1.6, which is the version that launched with the 10th-anniversary update last year. Using other mods isn’t recommended due to synchronization issues, but players can coordinate with their friends to have matching installs.
Future Updates
With the mod now out in the wild, development isn’t entirely finished. In the official FAQ for Together Reborn, the mod team expresses its desire to add new features. This will take the form of synchronized weather, player markers, and better scripting for quests. Since the mod is open source, the team encourages others to bring their own ideas to the table to help flesh out this mod for everyone.
