When, Where, and How to Catch Walleye
Walleye are pretty easy fish to catch. You can find Walleye in the Pelican Town and Cindersap Forest river, the Cindersap Forest pond, the Mountain Lake, and the farm pond if you choose the Riverland or Forest farm.
Walleye only appear during fall when it’s raining or during the winter if you use the Rain Totem. Walleyes are biting between 12 p.m. and 2 a.m. You can also catch Walleye any time, any day if you’re using Magic Bait.
You don’t need a lot of experience to reel in a Walleye, as they aren’t very tough fish. Just throw some bait on your fishing rod (if you have the Fiberglass rod or better) to increase the frequency of a bite and be patient. You won’t have to wait long, though, as you have a 32% chance of catching a Walleye with each throw.
If you’re not interested in fishing, you can randomly find Walleye for sale at the Traveling Cart for 315-1000g. You can occasionally find a Walleye in a Garbage Can during the fall and winter around town, too.

Other Uses of Walleye
Walleyes have a couple of other uses in Stardew Valley. It’s a required item in the Night Fishing Bundle in the Community Center. You’ll also need 1 Gold Quality Walleye for the Quality Fish Bundle in the Fish Tank (Remix). Walleye can also be used in the Sewing Machine to tailor the Fishing Vest.
Walleye is also a required item in a quest. If you check the Help Wanted board in the fall or winter, you may find a request from a random villager asking for Walleye. If you complete this quest, it will net you 315g and 150 Friendship points.
