Outpost Zero is an Alterra base you can find in Subnautica Below Zero. It is a place that is filled with items and blueprints you can acquire. What’s better is that you can get here fairly early in the game.

Before Heading to Outpost Zero
First things first, you can definitely head to Outpost Zero without prior extensive preparation. You can simply stick close to the surface or make use of Titan Holefishes to gather oxygen on your way there. The path forward is also not too difficult to navigate.
However, having at least these two items will make the trip much easier. It will also make following this guide much simpler for you. That said, be sure to have the following items first:
- Compass – You obtain the blueprint for the Compass after you craft the Pathfinder Tool. Both of these items can be crafted using the Fabricator.
- Seaglide – This will make getting to Outpost Zero faster. You can craft it using the Fabricator after you obtain its blueprint. You get it by scanning its fragments, which are found in the Arctic Kelp Caves and Twisty Bridges.
Once you have these two items, you can then begin making your way to Outpost Zero.
Where is Outpost Zero?
Outpost Zero is located about 450-500m to the northeast of the Drop Pod. From the pod, start making your way north. Once you hit a wall, turn to the east. Follow the path while sticking to the left wall from here.
As you go along, you will eventually spot pillars of ice that are sticking downward. Swim underneath them and head onward. You will then see a way back to land when looking up.
Get to land and follow the light posts. As long as you follow them, you will be led directly to Outpost Zero.
