The Sims 4: How To Become An Alien

A popular option in The Sims franchise, not just The Sims 4, is to play as a fantasy or a science fiction creature. The Sims 4 offers the chance to experience what it’s like to be an alien living among humans.

For the most part, the aliens often hide their true faces and try to fit in. However, they also have a lot of useful powers that come in handy in everyday life. But the first step is to become an alien! There are multiple ways how to go about it.

Rely on Create-A-Sim

By far the easiest option to make an alien Sim is to create one in Create-A-Sim. The CAS allows to both design what the alien Sim will look like in their true alien form as well as in their human disguise. Other than this extra activity, creating an alien in the CAS is similar to creating any other type of Sim.

Get Abducted by Aliens

The player can arrange the abduction in several ways. One of the more complex ways is to join the Scientist Career. The Scientist Career is one of the interactive ones that allows the player to accompany the Sims into the labs where they work.

Once the Sim progresses in their career, they get the option to build the so-called Satellite Dish. The Satellite Dish allows contacting the aliens. After contacting the aliens, there’s a chance that they will show up and abduct the Sim.

The aliens most often make an appearance between 9 PM and 4 AM. If they abduct a male Sim, it’s possible the Sim will become pregnant. But first, he’ll disappear for a few hours. Once he returns, he’ll remember being abducted by aliens.

Of course, the aliens might not show up on the first try. If they don’t abduct the Sim the first time, all you have to do is try again the next day and the next. A way how to increase the chance of abduction is to level up the logic skill at least up to level 7 out of 10.

If the male Sim is pregnant, he’ll give birth to an alien baby. It’s possible to tell soon after Sim returns from the abduction whether he’s pregnant or not. If he’s pregnant, he’ll get the feeling of “Weird Tummy Ache.”

An interesting fact is that Sim can decide whether he wants to keep the baby and raise it. Alternatively, he can send the baby to the alien homeworld Sixam. If he does, he doesn’t get the chance to change his mind.

So those gamers who want to play with an alien they haven’t created in the CAS should choose the first option. Even a child alien has a human disguise they can use to fit in with the rest of the world.

That doesn’t mean they don’t possess unique alien powers. One of them is the ability to find out what character traits other Sims have. The alien babies born from abduction tend to have the full range of alien powers at their disposal.

Another option if the player doesn’t want to do a Scientist Career is to buy the observation tower. Afterward, they should have their Sim search for aliens this way.

It might take some time but if the Sim’s level of logic skill is high, the aliens might abduct the Sim sooner or later. An important thing to remember is that the chance the aliens will show up and abduct the Sim is only about 25 percent. It might not happen right away so in this case, patience is the key!

Woohoo With an Alien

Getting abducted and pregnant is all fine, but some players would prefer something less dramatic. In that case, there’s always the option of romancing an alien and having the alien’s baby.

The good news is that a human and an alien will always have an alien baby. The same goes for two aliens. But a baby that has two alien parents and not just one will most likely have more unique powers than the half-human, half-alien baby.

Approaching an alien and striking a romance with one can be problematic, though. Just like mermaids, aliens tend to keep their identity a secret from the human Sims. And since they can use human disguises, it’s difficult to tell them apart from human Sims.

A tried-out way how to meet aliens is to attend the event Alien Night in a bar. When attending, the Sim is more likely to come across an alien.

Some aliens might also be working in the lab where the Sim can start their Science Career. Once again, the alien will be in their human disguise, though. So the Sim will have to get to know them first. Only then can they discover that this person is alien and romance them.

There’s one telltale sign that a Sim is an alien. When the aliens in human disguises feel strong emotions, they start glowing. The color of the glow depends on the emotion. So, for example, angry aliens will have a red glow to them. This way, the Sims can tell them apart from human Sims, disguise or no disguise.

If going to the bars isn’t Sim’s preferred way of meeting aliens, they can choose the more difficult approach. If they manage to build a rocket ship, they can travel to the alien world Sixam and meet aliens there. But this option is risky since the aliens might decide to erase the Sim’s memory of them. That makes forming a romance with them all the more challenging!

Use Cheats

Sometimes the players want to turn an existing Sim into an alien. While the game itself doesn’t normally allow this, that’s when cheats come in.

First, use the command Control + Shift + C to open the “cheat bar.” The second step is to use the code Testingcheats true to enable using cheats.

Once that’s done, all you have to do is follow this up with the code traits.equip_trait trait_OccultAlien. Then, just click on the Sim you wish to turn into an alien, and it’s done!
