You can use your Dusk Stone on Misdreavus in any area and at any time of day to evolve the small Ghost-type Pokémon. Furthermore, it does not matter what level your Misdreavus is at, just like with many other item evolutions. As such, evolving Misdreavus into Mismagius is pretty straightforward.
Where to Get Dusk Stones
The easiest method for obtaining Dusk Stones is to buy them from Simona. Simona is the vendor located about halfway between the entrance to Galaxy Hall and the Training Grounds. Each Dusk Stone will cost you 1,200 Merit Points.
Alternatively, you can also find Dusk Stones by picking them up from within space-time distortions. However, Dusk Stones spawn fairly rarely, so this isn’t an efficient method of acquiring them.
Furthermore, you’ll get one Dusk Stone by talking to Vessa after collecting at least 30 Wisps. This is the cheapest method of obtaining a Dusk Stone, although it will require you to do a fair bit of exploring. Your best bet of finding Wisps is to adventure around Hisui at night, as Wisps become visible from much farther away after dusk.
How to Get Merit Points
If you need more Merit Points, you’ll have to explore any area besides Jubilife Village. On the maps of these other areas, you’ll find lost satchels marked with obvious icons. Each lost satchel you retrieve and send back to its owner will net you somewhere between 50 to 100 Merit Points.
To send lost satchels back to their owners, you’ll need to head to the Lost & Found menu. This can be located in the second tab from the right after you press up on the directional pad. This tab will be marked with a wifi symbol.
Conveniently, lost satchels respawn infinitely (albeit always in different places). This means that you can farm Merit Points consistently—as long as you don’t mind lots of exploring. If the area you’re in runs out of lost satchels, just go to another area to find more. Rinse and repeat until your pockets are brimming with Merit Points.

With that said, even its best stats will pale in comparison to more offensive Ghost-types like Gengar and defensive ones like Dusknoir. Therefore, Mismagius can be seen as a more balanced option as opposed to a specialist.
However, what Mismagius lacks in stats it makes up for by having an excellent move pool. With the right setup, your Mismagius will be able to deal with a large number of potential threats. Ironically, however, it won’t likely ever be able to go toe-to-toe with more specialized Ghost-types like the aforementioned species.
The Best Offensive Moves for Mismagius in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Due to Mismagius having a much better Special Attack than Attack, you should only choose special damage-dealing moves for an offense. Thankfully, Mismagius is not lacking for great moves of this variety.
It can learn special damage-dealing moves from a total of 10 different types. This means that, regardless of your opponent, Mismagius will always have access to at least 1 move that will be super effective against them.
Through leveling up, Mismagius will learn Extrasensory at level 25, Power Gem at level 34, and Shadow Ball at level 43. All of these are nice options for Mismagius’ moveset. Furthermore, it should also be mentioned that you can get Mismagius to learn Shadow Ball early via the move tutor.

Furthermore, you should also not forget about status moves. Sadly, Mismagius can only learn three of these, though only one is viable in battle. Calm Mind in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is arguably the best status move for increasing stats.
This is because it boosts both offensive stats (Attack and Special Attack) and both defensive stats (Defense and Special Defense). This is a fair deal more powerful than in other Pokémon games where it only affects the Special Attack and Special Defense stats.
The other two moves, Hypnosis and Rest, aren’t bad moves, but Mismagius can’t make great use of them.
