Who is Diluc?
In Genshin Impact, there are several regions that the Traveler will explore in hopes of finding their twin. The first of these is a beautiful place called Mondstadt, the historical city of wind. Home to the Anemo God Venti, the city and its surrounding areas are the starting zone for new players. Diluc is one of the windy city’s many denizens, and he is featured prominently in several quests. From the Ragnvindr Clan, Diluc owns the popular Dawn Winery that is located just south of the city.
The five-star Diluc is also a strong fire melee character; this powerhouse of Pyro energy is the cornerstone of many high-powered team builds. He works best in teams with Zhongli and Xingqiu.
How to Get Diluc in Genshin Impact
Diluc is one of the many characters in Genshin Impact that is not available through the story. In order to get him, you will need to Wish for him. Wishes are Genshin‘s gatcha system that allows players to trade premium currency for the chance at four- and five-star characters and weapons. There are always two different versions of Wishes available.
- Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation requires Acquaint Fate
- Limited Edition Wishes – Event Banners require Intertwined Fate
The Event Banners last for around a month or so, rotating the five- and four-star characters and weapons that will be possible prizes for the Wishes. The effective rate of pulling the banner’s five-star with the pity system is about 1.5% and the four-stars around 13%. The current Event Banner does not feature Diluc; as of the time of this writing, Ayaka is the five-star featured in the event banner. This means that the only way to get Diluc until his banner comes back around again is to go through the Standard Wish.

In order to get a specific five-star from the standard banner takes a lot of luck or a lot of Wishes. That being said, there are several other five stars in Genshin Impact, and just about all of them can be used to make a great team.

Also, Event Banner characters are much easier to nab, so waiting for a Diluc banner is far better than spending hundreds to thousands of dollars in an attempt to get one single character. You will also need to get several Dilucs in Banners in order to upgrade his constellation, which is required to make Diluc the kind of five-star team leader players will want him to be.
