About the Aeon Social Link
Shy and incredibly naive about how the world works after losing her memories, Marie appears to be intensely awkward and unfriendly when you first meet her. However, after spending more time with Marie, you learn that her rudeness is used to keep people away as she struggles with many insecurities.
When visiting the Velvet Room during your playthrough, you’ll often find Marie sitting beside Igor, as she is one of the Room’s assistants. Occasionally, you’ll also find some of Marie’s poems on the floor of the Velvet Room. Many of which deal with tough subjects like depression and the meaning of life.
It’s possible to begin Marie’s Social Link, the Aeon, as early as April 18. To do so, visit the Velvet Room and select the option “Check on Dwellers,” followed by “Listen to Marie’s Request.”
Marie can be found outside the entrance to the Velvet Room in the Central Shopping District when you’re not busy with an investigation.
WarningMaxing out the Social Link in time unlocks a new dungeon: the Hollow Forest. Doing so also gives you access to many new cutscenes and dialogue detailing Marie’s past.
Aeon Hangout Conversations
Each time you hang out with Marie, you’ll be able to choose from a select number of dialogue responses to move the conversation forward. Saying the right thing will boost your friendship more quickly, and having a Persona of the Aeon Arcana equipped will grant bonus points.

NoteWhile hanging out with all of your friends and acquaintances—like Naoto Shirogane and Rise Kujikawa—can help you to become more powerful in Persona 4 Golden, the Social Link for Marie is particularly important. Failing to prioritize spending time with her and not reaching Max Rank soon enough causes you to miss a huge chunk of gameplay and unique dialogue. As such, be sure to visit the Velvet Room every once in a while to pull her out of her shell!
