One of the main gameplay loops in Subnautica is building. You won’t be able to do that if you don’t know how to charge batteries. To charge batteries, you’ll need to build a Battery Charger, though, you’ll need to look for the fragments for its blueprint.

You’ll find the fragments of the Battery Charger’s blueprints in wrecks. While wrecks are rampant in Subnautica, you’ll want to head to the following biomes and check out the wrecks here:

    • Grassy Plateaus
    • Degasi Seabases
    • Jellyshroom Cave

Keep exploring these biomes and enter the wrecks as soon as you see them. After you find and scan the two Battery Charger fragments, you’ll then acquire the blueprint to build this interior module.

You can build the Battery Charger using the Habitat Builder, which you can create with the Fabricator. Once that’s ready, explore the world of Subnautica to create and find the following materials:

    • Titanium
    • Copper Wire
    • Wiring Kit

After acquiring one of each, you’ll be all set to build your own Battery Charger.

You can place the Battery Charger either in a Cyclops vehicle or a Seabase. A Battery Charger can house and charge up to four batteries at once. It takes about 11 minutes for it to fully charge up a completely drained battery.

Take note that the Battery Charger uses up the base’s energy. Make sure your base has enough energy to sustain it.

Later on in the game, you’ll be able to acquire an upgraded version of the battery called Ion Batteries. These too can be charged using the Battery Charger.
