The Only Spot You Can Find Cleffa
The only place where Cleffa can spawn is the Fabled Spring area. This area is in the southwest of the Coronet Highlands; directly south of Bolderoll Ravine. Furthermore, Cleffa (and its evolutions) can only spawn here at night. Thankfully, in regards to spawning, the phase of the moon does not matter—nor does the weather.
However, Cleffa does not spawn nearly as often as Clefairy does. As such, you’ll likely need to leave the area and then return to force a Cleffa to spawn. Simply go back to Jubilife Village and then come right back to the Coronet Highlands.
Be careful while you’re searching, as Cleffa is very small and can be hard to spot in the darkness and through the foliage. On top of that, Cleffa is also quite skittish, so it’ll run away from you and despawn if it sees you coming.
How to Catch a Cleffa
Due to Cleffa being prone to running away, you’ll want to take the stealthy approach when trying to catch it. The moment you spot a Cleffa, crouch and get into some tall grass.
Then, wait until Cleffa’s back is turned before you toss a Poké Ball at it. Hitting Cleffa from behind will trigger a backstrike, which will increase your capture success rate. Be sure to use a Gigaton Ball or an Ultra Ball for the best chances of catching Cleffa.
Furthermore, you can feed Cleffa Dazzling Honey or Honey Cakes to increase your capture success rate prior to lobbing a Poké Ball at it.
