Key Takeaway
In Part 2, you can farm Fangmon for Mature Enlightenment Slabs before fighting it in the story encounter that ends the part. Later on, in Part 9, you can farm the Leomon found in Free Battles for Mature Enlightenment Slabs.
Evolving your recruited Digimon from rookie to champion is not as straightforward as in other Digimon games. In Digimon Survive, you’ll need specific items that are hard to come by. However, there are ways to farm Mature Enlightenment Slabs.

How to Farm Mature Enlightenment Slabs From Fangmon in Part 2
To get to the exact spot in Part 2 where you can farm slabs from Fangmon, you’ll first need to complete the battle where you rescue three Gomamon from some Gazimon. After this encounter, a few new locations will be unlocked. One of these new locations will be the Inner Shrine (not to be confused with the Inner Shrine Entrance).
Head to the Inner Shrine and click on the small stone Shrine in the middle of the area. After some dialogue with Agumon, you’ll get your very first Mature Enlightenment Slab. Following this, you can begin the actual farming. However, before you do, it’s very important that you save your game. For maximum efficiency, you’ll want to be able to reload to this point in time.
Finding Fangmon
After you grab the slab from the Inner Shrine, you’ll be directed by the game to head towards the dam to the east. Don’t do this just yet, as you’ll miss some farming chances if you progress with the story at this point.
Instead of heading towards the dam, stay in the Forest Area around the Inner Shrine. Go to any location in the Forest Area (besides the Free Battle spot) and you’ll find Fangmon waiting for you. When Fangmon ambushes you, you will enter a battle where the win condition is to survive three of Fangmon’s attacks.
After achieving victory, Fangmon will retreat. When the battle ends, you’ll have a decent chance to receive a Mature Enlightenment Slab as a reward—but it’s not guaranteed. This is where reloading can be useful. If Fangmon does not drop a slab after being defeated, reload your game and try the battle again for another chance of getting a slab.
Rinse and Repeat
You can face off against Fangmon in the Forest Area this way six times. Each time you defeat the large red wolf Digimon, the area where you fought it will temporarily disappear. Keep battling Fangmon and reloading if you don’t get a slab. With some luck and patience, you should be able to get a few Mature Enlightenment Slabs this way.
When you’ve exhausted all the locations in the Forest Area, head to the Dam – Underground area to progress the story a bit more. Every time you slightly progress the story, check the Forest Area (and other areas) to see if Fangmon is still chasing you. Also, keep saving as you go in order to reload for more chances to get slabs.
After a while, Fangmon will stop dropping slabs. The exact number of times you need to fight this wolf Digimon before it stops dropping slabs varies. However, through gamer discussions across the internet, the average number of Mature Enlightenment Slabs you seem to be able to farm from Fangmon before it stops dropping them is around five.
How to Farm Mature Enlightenment Slabs From Leomon in Part 9
The next point in the game where you can comfortably farm Mature Enlightenment Slabs is Part 9. While you’re allowed to explore, you’ll want to do a lot of Free Battles in hopes of finding Leomon.
This Digimon has a chance to drop Mature Enlightenment Slabs when defeated. Furthermore, Leomon is guaranteed to give them to you if you successfully talk to it and ask it for items. However, keep in mind that Leomon do not spawn very often, so you may need to do a few less useful Free Battles between finding this Digimon.
How to Successfully Talk to Leomon
Like all other free monsters, Leomon will have a series of questions for you when you try to talk to it with one of your partner Digimon (the Digimon you have recruited who don’t have a human partner cannot talk in battle).
Every Leomon will have three questions for you (which will change every time you talk to a foe). Each of these questions can either increase or decrease the six-slot progress bar above Leomon’s head. Thankfully, you only need to fill the progress bar up to three slots to successfully ask Leomon for items.
Here’s a breakdown of some of the best answers to give Leomon for most questions:
- “Would you rather fight a weak enemy or a strong enemy?”
Answer “Does it matter?” to have the progress bar increase by two slots.
- “What do you believe is ‘right’?”
Answer “Acting with kindness” to have the progress bar increase by two slots.
- “If you saw a raging fire heading towards a crying child, what would you do?”
Answer “Save the kid, duh!” to have the progress bar increase by two slots.
- “Do you think I’m uptight?”
Answer “You seem serious” to have the progress bar increase by one slot.
