Key Takeaway

To get a Fishing Rod, purchase the Fishing Knowledge Book from Lethe’s General Store. You can purchase this book for 800 Grilla.

In Harvestella, you will notice spots on the map indicating fishing points. Though you won’t be able to fish right away, eventually you can catch and sell fish through your Shipping Box when you’ve unlocked a Fishing Rod.

    Benefits of Fishing

Fishing serves as another way for you to collect Grilla. You can drop your fish into the Shipping Box and collect the Grilla the next day. Fishing is great to do when you’ve finished all of your other tasks for the day, and you have some time before you need to sleep. This way, fishing can serve as an activity to maximize your extra time.

How to Unlock the Fishing Rod

At the beginning of the game, you can go up to a fishing point and you’ll get a message telling you that you cannot fish until you have a Fishing Rod. This is actually slightly misleading, as what you need isn’t actually a rod, it’s a Fishing Knowledge book. You can buy this book at the General Store in Lethe for 800 Grilla.

Once you’ve purchased the book, a message will pop up letting you know that you can now fish at fishing points.

    How to Fish

To fish, simply go to a fishing point and tap “A” on your Switch controller (or the corresponding button for PC). Your character will cast their line into the water, and you’ll see the bobber floating. You will need to wait until the bobber has gone completely under the water to quickly press “A” again and reel in your catch. Make sure you don’t press the button too early while the fish are nibbling.
