Key Takeaway
Eevee will evolve into Sylveon when it is near maximum friendship and knows a Fairy-type move. Once those two criteria are met, Eevee will evolve the next time that it levels up.
Alternatively, you can catch a wild Sylveon in West Province Area Three (just northeast of Medali), around Alfornada, or east of the Team Star Fairy Crew base in North Province Area Three. Sylveon is rare in those first two places, but one is guaranteed in the North Province Area Three location (verified in Pokémon Violet, but not in Pokémon Scarlet).
In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you can both evolve an Eevee to get a Sylveon or find one in the wild. Since Sylveons are pretty rare in the wild, it may be easier to evolve an Eevee to get one.

Where to Find a Wild Sylveon
Although Sylveon spawns very rarely, it can be found in West Province Area Three (just northeast of Medali) or around Alfornada.
Though, you are guaranteed to find one in North Province Area Three if you check east of Team Star’s Fairy Crew base (verified in Pokémon Violet but not in Pokémon Scarlet). This special Sylveon will have a sparkling aura and will Terastallize immediately.
Its catch rate is 45, which means that if you throw a standard Poké Ball at it when it is at full HP, you have just under a 12% chance to capture it. As usual, you want to weaken Sylveon until its HP is in the yellow or red zone before trying to capture it. Also, be sure to inflict a status condition, such as Sleep, for even better odds.
How to Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon
As in many of the previous main series Pokémon games, you must evolve Eevee in a certain way to get Sylveon. First, you have to get Eevee’s friendship near its maximum point. Next, Eevee must know at least one Fairy-type move. Once you’ve checked off both of those criteria, all you need to do is level Eevee up once and it will evolve.
If Eevee doesn’t know a Fairy-type move but has near-maximum friendship and levels up, it will evolve into an Espeon or an Umbreon. While both of those evolutions are great, they may not be what you want.
Fairy-type Moves That You Can Teach Eevee
The earliest Fairy-type move that Eevee can obtain is Baby-Doll Eyes, which it can learn at level 15. The next is Charm, which it can learn at level 45. However, you can also teach Eevee Charm at any level by using TM002—which becomes available very early in-game.
How to Check Friendship
There is an NPC in the middle of Cascarrafa that can tell you how friendly your Pokémon is with you. They are in the middle of the city and are close to the large central fountain. You can spot them by their yellow shirt and the Marill standing next to them.
When your Eevee is friendly enough to evolve, the Friendship Checker will say “Wow, you’re pretty great friends! You sure mean a lot to each other.” At this point, you need to level your Eevee up once to get it to evolve.
How to Increase Friendship
The main way you increase your friendship with your Pokémon is by keeping them in your party and winning battles with them. However, there are other methods that can speed things up. The following three tactics are the best but there are more out there!
Using the auto-battle feature by pressing the R button lets your Pokémon run around freely to battle wild Pokémon as they see fit. The more auto-battles your Eevee wins, the more its friendship increases.
Washing your Pokémon during a picnic also increases friendship. While a picnic is happening, press the X button when facing a Pokémon to give them a short bath.
Another great way to increase friendship quickly is to have your Eevee hold a Soothe Bell. This item can be bought from Delibird Presents stores for $5,000—particularly the ones in Mesagoza. While Eevee is holding a Soothe Bell, all increases to its friendship will be 50% more effective.
