Key Takeaway

The Pummarola is unlocked by playing as Gennaro Belpaese for five minutes on any stage.

The Pummarola is one of the many passive items you can use in Vampire Survivors. Unlike some of the other passive items, though, you’ll first need to unlock this before it can appear in your runs.

Table Of Contents

    Play as Gennaro Belpaese

Gennaro Belpaese is a character you can already buy at the start of the game, without meeting other requirements. His starting price is 500 coins.

Unlock Gennaro and play as him for five minutes. Once done, you’ll unlock the Pummarola passive item.

    What Does the Pummarola Do?

Pummarola increases your recovery stat by 0.2 per level. At level 5, you’ll gain +1 recovery. This makes your character recover 1 HP per second.

Aside from this function, the Pummarola is also the required passive item to evolve the Garlic weapon into the Soul Eater.

Just as long as the requirement mentioned above is met, you’ll then have a chance to receive this passive item whenever you level up. However, it can also be found as a stage item in the Mad Forest and Moongolow.

Picking up a Pummarola as a stage item does not unlock it. You can, however, use it in that run only. It won’t appear in the other stages unless you personally unlock it by playing as Gennaro Belpaese for five minutes.
