Friendship is at the core of Persona 5 Royal, and getting closer to your pals can result in tangible benefits in battle. Ann Takamaki represents the Lovers Confidant, and her seductive techniques can easily turn the tide of battle against even the Metaverse’s strongest Shadows.

How to Begin the Lovers Confidant
Ann is one of your first friends in Persona 5 Royal. Haunted by the abusive actions of Shujin’s volleyball coach Suguru Kamoshida, she quickly taps into her new powers, desperate to see him pay for his many crimes. Compassionate and energetic, Ann will do anything for her friends and is eager to help anyone in need.
You’ll start Ann’s Confidant automatically on April 15. She spends her time after school and on weekends in Shibuya’s Underground Mall.
Lovers Confidant Skills
As you become closer to Ann, she’ll learn more and more helpful battle abilities. Check out the table below for complete details.

After maxing out Ann’s Confidant, her original Persona, Carmen, will transform into Hecate. If you unlock the third semester, Hecate will transform into Célestine.
Maxing out Ann’s Confidant will also allow you to fuse Ishtar, the only Persona with the Drain Wind skill and one of only four able to learn Salvation.
For those starting New Game Plus, the Fashion Magazine Ann gives you on March 19 will come in handy, unlocking Sexy Technique♥ and Crocodile Tears instantly once Ann’s Confidant is started in the second playthrough.
Hangout Conversations
When spending time with Ann, certain dialogue choices will help increase your friendship rank more quickly. If you make the wrong selection once or twice, don’t panic–there are ways to make up points, like giving gifts or engaging in extra hangouts when you’re free.
To get the most points possible, make sure that you have a Persona of the Lovers Arcana on hand before initiating conversation.

Meiji Shrine
Ann will invite you here, unlocking the location on your map. However, it’s also possible to unlock it by completing Futaba’s Palace before August 4. Try to have a Death Persona on hand along with a Lovers Persona, as Tae Takemi will also show up during the hangout.
