Outside of your close circle of friends in Persona 5 Royal, you’ll also have the opportunity to become closer to other helpful characters. To unlock additional strategies and abilities to use while in the Metaverse, you’ll want to spend plenty of time with the Shogi prodigy Hifumi Togo.

How to Begin the Star Confidant
Known for never losing a Shogi match, Hifumi Togo is a student at Kosei High School. Her beauty and brains add to her popularity, but the truth of her circumstances is somewhat muddled. As the protagonist spends more time with her, he discovers that certain damaging rumors about Hifumi are largely true.
You can begin the Star Confidant on 6/26 at night, but you’ll need to meet the following criteria:
- Reach Rank 2 of Yusuke’s Confidant (Emperor)
- Have Suave Charm (Level 3)
Hifumi can be found at the church in Kanda at night. On rainy days, she can also be found there during the day.
Star Confidant Skills
Spending time learning how to play Shogi and getting to know Hifumi will pay off with helpful new skills to use in your fight against Shadows. Check out the table below to see all unlockable skills.

You’ll be able to fuse the powerful Persona Lucifer once you max out the Star Confident, as well as Yuuki Mishima’s Moon Confidant. Boasting the second-highest base level in the game, Lucifer can repel all Bless skills. Itemizing this Persona will reward you with the Tyrant Pistol for the protagonist.
As long as you’re at max rank with Hifumi, she’ll give you a Kosha Piece on March 19. This will unlock the Touryou skill once you establish her Confidant in New Game Plus.
Hangout Conversations
Selecting specific dialogue options will help to increase your Confidant rank more quickly. If you say the wrong thing, you can always give a gift to make up for any lost points.
By ranking up Hifumi’s Confidant, you’ll also progressively boost your Knowledge stat.
