Outside of your close circle of friends and fellow Phantom Thieves in Persona 5 Royal, you’ll have the opportunity to become closer to other characters. Tae Takemi, a sketchy doctor with a clinic in Yongen-Jaya, can provide plenty of helpful medicine for your time in the Metaverse, no questions asked.

How to Begin the Death Confidant
The owner of Takemi Medical Clinic in Yongen-Jaya, Tae doesn’t look like your typical doctor. With her punk style and sharp tongue, her bad reputation almost seems warranted. However, as you spend more time with her, you’ll uncover the startling truth of her exile from the medical community.
You can visit the clinic and trigger Tae’s Confidant as early as April 18. The first time you visit, you’ll learn more about Tae and her checkered past. The next time you visit the clinic after this, the Confidant will start in earnest.
Death Confidant Skills
Spending more time at Tae’s clinic and allowing the good doctor to experiment on you is worth it in the long run. As you level up her Confidant, you’ll unlock more healing items and bigger discounts. See the table below for complete details.

Once the Death Confidant is maxed out, you’ll be able to fuse Alice. This Persona reduces the cost of any instant death skill to zero, and can also evade Divine Decree and block Bless Insta-Kill attacks against herself in battle.
Provided that you’ve reached max rank, Tae will give you a Dog Tag on March 19. This will allow you to access all items sold at the clinic automatically once you start Tae’s Confidant in New Game Plus.
Hangout Conversations
Choosing certain dialogue options will increase your friendship rank more quickly during your hangouts with Tae. If you say the wrong thing, you can always give a gift or two to make up for any lost points.
By ranking up Tae’s Confidant, you’ll also progressively boost your Guts stat.
