Being social is vital in Persona 5 Royal, and getting close to the right people can result in powerful new abilities. Getting to know Chihaya Mifune, the strange fortune teller in Shinjuku, takes some time, but doing so can help foster your other relationships and reward you with extra cash.

How to Begin the Fortune Confidant
Cheerful and optimistic, Chihaya Mifune is a fortune teller known throughout Tokyo for her incredible accuracy. However, not everything she says is entirely true. As you spend more time getting to know her, you’ll learn more about the darkness threatening her from behind the scenes.
To start Chihaya’s Confidant, you’ll need to visit her at night in Shinjuku’s Red-light District on June 22. After this initial meeting, you’ll need to return to purchase a Holy Stone from her for a whopping ¥100,000. Make sure you save up!
After discovering the truth about the Holy Stone, return to Chihaya to eavesdrop on a conversation with her client. This will trigger the Mementos Request “Ending the Boyfriend’s Abuse.” You can only trigger Rank 1 of Chihaya’s Confidant after completing this sidequest.
Chihaya can always be found at her booth in the Red-light District in Shinjuku at night. However, she won’t be out on rainy nights.

Spending enough time with Chihaya will reward you with bonus abilities that will help you to thrive as a Phantom Thief. Check out the full list of abilities and necessary ranks below.

Maxing out Chihaya’s Confidant will allow you to fuse Lakshmi, one of three Personas to learn Life Aid and Lullaby. Lakshmi is also the highest-level Persona to learn the passive skill Climate Decorum, which doubles the user’s evasion rate if the weather is rainy or special.
Provided that you’ve reached max rank, Chihaya will give you a Fortune Tarot Card on March 19. This unlocks all fortune readings automatically once you start Chihaya’s Confidant in New Game Plus.
