What You Need to Awaken the Secret Dragon
Before you bother to track down the sleeping beast, you need the Mystical Heirloom. Otherwise, you won’t be able to awaken the final dragon from its statue form. To get this special relic, you need to go to Midgard and search behind an ice wall with a yellow crack in it that is southwest of Tyr’s Temple. You need the Draupnir Spear to break the ice wall.
Head to Dragon Beach in Svartalfheim
Begin at the Mystic Gateway at The Watchtower (the one just south of Lyngbakr Island) and hop on a boat. Row southeast to Dragon Beach and then take a look around. It shouldn’t take you long to find the large statue.
Use the Mystical Heirloom While Below the Statue
Get nice and close before using the Mystical Heirloom. Once you do, The Everlasting will break free from its stony prison and will attack you. Unlike many of the other dragons you’ve faced so far, this one is capable of breathing fire and ice.
If you have late-game gear (gear level seven or higher), this fight won’t be very tough. Use your preferred tactics to take down this beast and reap the rewards. If you want a suggestion for a battle strategy: use the Draupnir Spear, as this fire and ice-breathing monster is a bit resilient to the Blades of Chaos’ and Leviathan Axe’s elements.
What You Get for Slaying The Everlasting
In addition to a few uncommon resources, you get an exceptionally rare Dragon Claw, which you need to upgrade the Dragon Scaled armor set. Since that set is some of the best armor in the game, it’s worth upgrading and using at least for a few fights.
The other noteworthy drop you get is an enchantment for the Amulet of Yggdrasil. This one, called Jötunheim’s Force, grants you +6 to all stats. When equipped alongside at least two other Jötunheim enchantments, you get a set bonus that increases your maximum rage based on your Vitality stat.
