If you’re low on Hearts and have no healing items, you should seek out the nearest Great Fairy. There are 4 locations where you can find these powerful beings. However, they’re pretty well hidden in most cases.

    Great Fairy Location #1

In Ukuku Prairie, there is a Great Fairy within a cave just south of the Cemetery. Furthermore, this cavern is just west of the tree which gives you the Honeycomb trade quest item. To enter this cave, you’ll need to blow open a cracked wall with a Bomb.

    Great Fairy Location #2

You can find another Great Fairy in the eastern part of the Mysterious Forest. To reach this spot, you’ll need to start from the center of these spooky woods and then go east through 1 of 2 thin passages.

The first of these passages is directly east of a ring of blue flowers while the other is at the very south of the Mysterious Forest. If you take the latter route, you’ll have to go north through a clearing with a lot of grass and a few shrubs.

    Great Fairy Location #3

The next Great Fairy is found in the northern part of the Ancient Ruins. First, head to the rock and shrub maze north of the ruins proper. From there, go northeast towards the staircase leading into the water.

In the rock face north of this spot, you’ll find a cracked wall. When you blow up this cracked wall with a Bomb, you’ll be able to enter a cave housing a Great Fairy.

    Great Fairy Location #4

Map view of Link standing near the cave with the Great Fairy at the far eastern part of the Tal Tal Mountain Range.

You can locate the last Great Fairy while on your way to Level 7 – Eagle’s Tower. In the eastmost part of the Tal Tal Mountain Range, south of the entrance to Level 7 – Eagle’s Tower, there is an entrance to a Great Fairy cave. Out of the 3 natural doorways here, the one that leads into the Great Fairy’s abode is the westmost one.

Furthermore, it’s worth mentioning that this is the easiest of the Great Fairy locations to revisit. Just east of the entrance to the Great Fairy cave, there is a Warp Point that you can uncover by digging into the ground surrounded by small rocks. This Warp Point will allow you to get back to this spot quickly and easily.

How Many Hearts Does a Great Fairy Restore?

Link about to speak to the Great Fairy in the Mysterious Forest. The large fairy is a humanoid with yellow wings who is hovering above a pond.

When you speak to any Great Fairy, she will fully restore all of your Hearts. As such, if you’re low on health and have no healing items on you, this can be a real lifesaver.

Each Great Fairy will only heal you if you are injured. You can only get healed this way once each time you’re in the area of a Great Fairy. To get healed again, you’ll need to leave the area and then come back.

Additionally, at every Great Fairy location, there will be a small Fairy as well. You can touch the smaller Fairy to get 10 Hearts of health back. On top of that, if you have an empty Fairy Bottle, you can capture the small Fairy to use later.

Don’t worry about the Great Fairy getting upset when you capture a small Fairy in front of her—she knows you don’t mean her kin any harm! Just be sure to release the little Fairy later on at some point, both for moral reasons and for the healing benefits.
